Welcome to beautiful Colorado!
Covid19 hit the world pretty hard this year, and while some travel options were still available to us, we decided to play it safe by avoiding flying.
After deliberating for a few days between California (Santa Barbara is one of my favorite places), and Colorado, we decided on the latter.
It was the beginning of August and a break from the Arizona heat is all we needed!
We drove about 9 hours to get to Durango and surprisingly no windy, scary mountain driving was necessary.
We stayed in a lodge-like beautiful house within the Purgatory resort.
In the summer, they offer a bunch of different activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, ski chair lift, alpine slides, ziplining,...
It was amazing to discover such an underrated part of Colorado. Sure, I've been to Denver, Beaver Creek, and Aspen before and I got a few surprised looks when I told people that we were going to visit Durango, Silverton, and Telluride, but it was absolutely worth it!
We spent the week hiking, exploring these gorgeous mountain towns, and trying out as many outdoor activities as we could. And big bonus, the food scene was insane!
If you get the chance, I would highly suggest you try Durango, Silverton, or Telluride for a few days!
Here are a few (okay, more like a lot) pictures :)
